10 things really needed in PPRO!
Here are some things I really would like to see in PPRO. As more people request things from ADOBE, there is more of a chance we will see them in future versions so PLEASE who ever wants to help, copy and pate this thread into ADOBE SUGGESTIONS: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
(p.s. I already know all the work-arounds for these things)…
1. When you import multiple psd files at once, Premiere asks you if you want to import it as a sequence or footage. I want there to be an option that says “Do the same for ALL!” So if you import 50 files, that I KNOW I want 50 sequences, that I don’t have to answer Premiere 50 times!
2. I want an option to “ripple delete” ALL spaces\gaps at once on any given video track. (closing all gaps and bringing all clips on the track together)
3. I want there to be a sequence export QUE like there is in AE!! I want to tell premiere to export a few different sequences seperately, each with its own export setting (or the same)… go home to sleep and have all the exports finished in the morning! (like I said, I don’t want work-arounds like nesting all sequences on one sequence – which anyway wouldn’t solve it if you need different export settings. And importing to AE is not a solution always)
4. I want more control over the TIMELINE markers! I want to be able to move them all at once! (very important!)
5. I want an option to be able to close all open sequences at once. (right click a sequence – close all!) (This is because when using muticam sequences – tabing from sequence to another causes delays for “updating timeline” (mainly with MATROX users) and as of now, when you close a sequence, PPRO wants to close this one but show you the next and you have to wait each time and all you want to do is close them all without delays!
6. While editing muticam, pressing 1 and 2 cuts the clip in the timeline and switches the camera. I want an option (say CTRL-1) that will not only cut the clip but also add a default transition. (I have no complaints here since multicam in PPRO is new and I’m sure they’ll come out with cool things in future versions).
7. I want the option of hiding “shy tracks” like in AE. To be able to HIDE tracks that have the “eye” turned off.
8. I want to be able to TAB through nested markers. These are markers that were set in a sequence and then when you nest this sequence in another sequence, you can – in some cases – snap to these nested markers, but the CTRL-Arrows won’t tab between them.
9. I want a count of how many individual clips or assest (titles, solids, etc..) are on any given track. This can be useful for many things.
10. I want to be able to change the keyframe icon from white diamonds to red hearts… (just kidding)… Now for real… the 10th thing is, I want to be able to swap video or audio TRACKS. Whatever is on track 1 will now be on track 2 and visa versa. This can be helpfull especially with audio tracks that you used “fill left\right” and want to switch it, or with video tracks for many reasons.

…or like most users, you can simply send the features that you want and everyone else can send the features that they want.
As I’ve said in many, many threads through about three development cycles, the “must have” features for any software product can differ wildly from user to user and workflow to workflow…
Being involved with Premiere since 4.0, my personal feature request list has, interestingly enough, very little overlap with yours.
A third person may have a list different from both of us…
