10 TB Xserve raid
Is any one running one of these and have you had any problems?
We are having 6 new edit suites installed this week and were surprised to find that the 10 TB xraids were replaced with 7 TB xraids. We called the vendor who we purchased from and they admitted to making the change without telling us. They told us they made the change because apple is having all kinds of difficulties with the 750 drives. Slow through put and bad configurations.
We ordered 3 of 10 TB so we could split them in half for each of the 6 edit suites. Needless to say when the gave us 7’s instead, we lost a whole lot of drive space that we had been planning around. Now we’ll probably have to get a fourth raid.

We have 8 XServe RAIDs here and have had 1 drive failure in the last year. We bang on these drives at least 16 hours a day from 15 edit suites with no problems.
We also just bought two more RAIDs populated with 750gig drives and the Apple rep never said one thing about problems.
What your salesperson did would make me very nervous about their integrity.
