Trying to figure out which graphics cards on a Mac will pass 10-BPC via HDMI, Display Port or DVI. I know that this is done from the capture card, but I’d also like to do this on the desktop.

As far as I can tell the Quadro 4000 supports 10-bit from the display port connector. I’m using HP Dream Color monitor as the display. Also looking at the HP zr30w for GUI monitor… this one is also “30-bit”.

I’m trying to have Smoke and Resolve live in the same box, but I’m getting burned by each system needing it’s own specific components. Switching capture cards is not an option. So, compromise is to use decklink for capture… which means NO kona for smoke and thus no 10-bit monitoring. I need to figure out a way to get in the ball park on the Smoke.

If both systems used dual desktop monitors that would be easiest. Has anyone successfully “color managed” a desktop GUI monitor for REC-709 and P3 while in Resolve and or Smoke?

    thanks!
