    Hi,

I just upgrade my graphics card from the Nvidia GT 7300 to a Radeon HD 5770.

It works great when I use it in bootcamp on my windows side. It even displays graphics properly on my mac side, but when I try to open up Final Cut Pro I get the error messages:

Final Cut Pro requires that your system have a Quartz Extreme capable video card.

Final Cut Pro requires that your system have 128 MB of VRAM; this system has only 0MB of VRAM.

I tried trashing preferences. I tried disk utility to repair permissions. System Utility recognizes that the graphics card has 1024 MB of VRAM, but Final Cut Wont. I can’t open it because of this.

    Any help?

    Thanks!

    1) change the port on the graphics card your monitor is connected to

upgrade to FCP 7, this was an issue with FCP 6.x versions.

I have final cut 7. I’d have to get an adapter to change the port, I can try that on monday. Here’s an idea i’ve been toying with. I’m running Leopard, what if I upgraded to Snow Leopard and downloading the graphics update for it?

We experienced this issue, and the SL Graphics Update fixed it.
