Export FCP7 to XML Without Needing FCP7 Installed

I’ve created an open source tool that allows you to export FCP7 sequences to XML without needing access to FCP7 software directly. You can access the repo here: Final-Crack-Pro

Open old Final Cut Pro 7 projects in modern editing software.

Final Crack Pro reads a Final Cut Pro 7 project file (.fcp) directly — you do not need Final Cut Pro installed — and converts it to XML that DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro can import. Your edit comes across: every clip, in the right place, with timing and media links intact, so you can relink your footage and see the cut exactly as it was.

Everything runs on your computer.

There is no website and no upload. Your project files and media never leave your machine — Final Crack Pro runs a small page in your own browser and does all the work locally. You can even unplug from the internet while you use it.

I believe this to be a first of its kind. I’ve tested with lots of older projects ranging from PowerPC FCP6, up to the Intel version (7.0.3) with great success. To me this has been the holy grail of transitioning older FCP7 formats for modern NLEs, especially since older machines will become harder to come by over the next decade.

This is a fully reverse engineered project – and has no affiliation with Apple.
