I am trying out a trial version of sony vegas 9 pro

It takes me 42 mins in pro to render NTSC DV Widescreen where as in platnium and hd version it took less than 15.

What gives? Is pro supposed to be slower?
How do I make pro run like it did on my other versions?

I used platnium and hd versions on 100% defaults with 8 frame transitions, rendering NTSC DV Widescreen codec 100% of the time.

*.wmv to *.avi NTSC DV Widescreen

They times should be about the same. Are you sure that you project properties and render properties are the same? Something doesn’t sound right.

I’m not sure if this would matter, but I have noticed that the NTSC DV Widescreen is titles “= NTSC DV Widescreen” vs “NTSC DV Widescreen” on the HD and Platnium versions. Its also got something called 3-2-2-4 pulldown or something like that labeled 24p.

Different codec maybe? I’m not sure to be honest, but I would love to get this issue fixed so pro runs just as fast.

Is your source 24p? If not, that might be your problem. If this is straight NTSC DV Widescreen then you should use 29.97 on your project, footage, and render options. Not 24p.
