vegs 9 mp4 render playback issues
Using sony vegas 9 pro. Rendering with main concept mp4 and default template. After rendering completes and I playback my video it is clear that it has problems. If I do not touch the video and let it play from start to finish there are no issues. But, if I try to start or skip around in the timeline the video restarts from the beginning while the audio continues to play. This causes a loss of synchronization between audio and video.
The issue does not occur with any other rendering options. Unfortunately I need this video to be in the mp4 format.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.-Sean

It sounds like the problem is in your playback software since the render can play correctly.

When rendering with any codec OTHER than the mainconcept mp4 playback is ok. But when rendering with mainconcept mp4 playback is not okay. My playback software is QuickTime and virtual DJ. I’m remixing music videos and need the format to be h.264, relatively low file size, and excellent audio.

I had this same problem. It is a issue specifically with version 9c and Sony is aware of it. The longer your .mp4, the worse the problem is. The video will play back fine in VLC player, however.
I contacted Sony about this and their solution was to revert to Vegas 9b until they can fix the issue. I did this and the issue was fixed.
