June 6, 2009 at 1:18 pmWhat format is your source footage? Where did it come from? What codec does it use? Unsupported source formats are usually the reason for this.

June 7, 2009 at 1:00 amHow powerful is your computer? Is it at least a 2.4GB+ Dual Core or Quad Core with 2GB or more of memory to handle the AVCHD media? Also editing WMV is the source of a lot of render issues. You might want to try rendering with just each format separately (in a new project) and see if you can reproduce the problem. This may narrow it down to which media is causing the problem.

June 7, 2009 at 3:03 pmIf you suspect the graphics card then turn off hardware acceleration and see if the problem goes away. If it does, update your graphics drivers and try again.
If you PC is only a single core AMD then it is not nearly powerful enough to handle AVCHD. AVCHD requires at least a DualCore although I would recommend nothing smaller than a QuadCore.
