Everytime I try and open a Divx AVI file in vegas it says:
none of the files dropped on vegas pro could be opened
I’ve installed the Divx codecs and everything.
    Thanks

Vegas does not support DivX or XviD.

Are you sure, I think I have opened many DivX and Xvid files. Right now I have an DX50 (DivX 5.x/6.x) opened.

Try to use the K-lite codec pack.

I can also verify that it is possible to open and edit at least some DivX files, once the standard ole DivX playback codecs are installed. I have seen files that wouldn’t play and files that would only play the audio, so it’s not a simple Yes/No, but, more times than not, it seems to work.

    Heya Eric! 🙂

So long as the DivX files are either older, or encoded to be compatible with DivX 5 or older, they’ll generally open in Vegas. DivX 5.2? broke the relationship. I think it was 5.2. Memory fades when it’s that far back. IIRC, they changed the way their container labeled things, but that might be wrong, too.
