Hello.I created and animated a lightning ball which i hold in my hand and now i want to create a mask to see my fingers beneath the ball to look more realistic but it wont let me.i can add just one point with the pen tool.In the upper right corner of AE cs4 when i add points they count but i cant see them or work with them. The lightning ball is a composition and not a layer if this has anything to do with masking. Also i noticed if i delete all my keyframes i can create a mask. Can i create a mask without deleting the key frames?some one please give an advice. Thanks

It sounds like you are trying to mask the ball to reveal your fingers. Instead try duplicating your hand layer and place one above and below the lightning ball layer in your timeline. From there mask your hand on the top layer to the degree where only your fingers in front of the ball are visible. This should give you the effect you are looking to achieve. It’s all about layering. Hope this helps.
