How do I keep images from moving…
How can I keep an image in a layer from moving while I go into the “Event Pan/Crop” window and change the position of another image (which I’m using as a background).
What I’m trying to do is to move my background from left to right (as if the camera was moving), and when I try to place an image in another layer this image moves along with the background; I want it to be sticked in its place and let my background movement from left to right to take the image out of the screen.

If you have 2 images on differen tracks, and you change the position of the images on 1 track by the EVENT PAN/CROP tool, the other image on the other track is not affected. So to understand what you are really doing, it would be helpful if you could show us a screenshot of your projct

If you are using 3D compositing try adding a new top track, make it the parent track but leave it empty. Then control all the tracks by moving the top parent track. The tracks closest to you (on the Z axis) will move faster and more than the items on tracks placed further back 9again on the Z axis)

Here are the images. Here you will be able to see the background image in one track which is a tree and a second image which is a person’s picture.
The next image shows that I’m moving the background image to the right, but the face follows up the movement; I’m trying to avoid the face to move.
What do you recommend in order to keep the face from moving?

There should only be one keyframe in Pan/Crop for this so my guess is that you have an extra keyframe(s) in there that is messing you up.

I have beel looking several times at your video, but I don’t see your problem. I.e. the picture is not moving at all together with the background…?!?

Thanks Theo for watching my video. What I’m trying to do is for the picture to move left along with the background as if the picture was part of the background.
The idea is to move from left to right in the background and as the background moves, images will appear and move to the left.
Is there an easy way to move the picture at the same time as the background (other way rather than going to the “Event Pan/Crop” screen and placing a key frame in the position field).

I’d do it like this;
Set the frame size of your project same as the background image size, ex; 4000×4000, and reset all pans and zoom out to full view,
then save a copy of this vegas project as FullSize.vegOpen a new project with desired output frame size and import fullsize.veg and use Event Pan/Crop on this clip to zoom in and pan.

So you want to have the picture making the same movement as the background? Normally this is achieved by making use of a parent/child relation.

Thanks Theo, I’ll be looking for some parent/child tutorials in the web, however, if you know a good tutorial I could find or you could explain me a little bit I’ll appreciate.
