Rendering problems
Posted by Trey Isbell on June 9, 2008 at 1:33 pmWhen I go to render my video I get an error memory to low. I checked the memory and I am only using 64% of my physical memory. Anybody have this problem before.

What would help us to help you is for you to give us a list of your system components.Version of Vegas used;
CPU speed;
Operating system;
Amount of RAM;
Number & size of hard drives;
Video format(s) that you edit with;
List of other relevant programs used (Photoshop, After Effects, etc.);
Brand of anti-virus software. -

32 BIT OPERATING SYSTEMSo far, so good.
NORTON ANTIVIRUS
Uh oh.
Norton AV is known to be a real resource/memory hog.
At the very least, disable it during any renders.
If at all possible, replace it with something far less obtrusive like PC-Cillin or Kaspersky.1 500 GB HARD DRIVE
Hard drives are very cheap these days.
Do yourself a favour and get at least one more, preferably two.
Use drive C for your apps and drive D for any & all material related to video production.
Change all relevant folder locations (temp, render, etc.) in Vgeas so that they point to drive D and not C.VIDEO FORMATS SOME MPEG2 FROM SONY HANDYCAM
MPEG-2 footage from miniDVD camcorders have been know to cause problems, even with reasonably powerful systems like yours.
SOME AVI FROM HELMET CAM
Is it DV-AVI or someting like DviX or Xvid?
My last suggestion is to make sure you’re not connected to the ‘net while doing any video editing.
