  • Hi Def 16×19 direct import to Vegas or render dvws?

Is there a difference or advantage/disadvantage between importing 16×9 HiDef 1.1212 footage into a NTSC DV widescreen
Vegas project or rendering the Hi Def footage to NTSC DV WS and importing that?

Image quality differences is my first consideration.

Second is file size and drive space.

The first scenario would be working with larger files on the timeline and would render times be longer? Would the final image look better? Vegas would be converting on the fly verses rendering out new files to import.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

    Larry

The biggest advantage to dropping hi-def footage on your timeline is that you can zoom and or pan it as needed.
With selective editing, you can also get multiple shots from the same piece of footage.
As I recall, the footage is the same size so you won’t gain or lose anything.
