Any recommendations? My budget is approx $300. I found a Western Digitial 1TB for $300 on the web. Would you think its ok to capture video to? I can’t afford top of the line, but want as much storage as possible for the buck to capture with. $300 for a 1TB isn’t bad, would you recommend another? (with link)

I generally put a Seagate drive into an external enclosure but there’s nothing wrong with Western Digital drives.
Even though they’ve been bought out by Seagate, I’d stay away from anything with a Maxtor label as a lot of folks I know have had a lot of problems with them in the past.
Go ahead and capture to it.
I regularly do 2 to 3 hr. captures to external drives (both USB & firewire) and have never had a dropped frame.

I have used the seagate free agent pro external usb/esata. The only external I could rely on that does not go to sleep! You can disable the sleep mode on it.
