Activity Forums VEGAS Pro Transition light surge

I have encountered a momentary surge of light in transitions where the top track has “track-imposed” effects. I am referring to a transition of two seperate tracks, where the top track fades to zero—allowing the lower track to fade in.

The surge is slight, but noticeable—and can be seen on the videoscope, as well.

The workaround is to not impose the effects (in my case, saturation-colorcorrection-broadcastclamps) at the track level. Instead, I group all of the clips present on the track, and impose the effects on one of the group. This, of course, imposes the effects on the rest of “the group”, as well. I am still imposing the effects to everything on the track, but I am doing so at the event level (rather than track level—far left controls).

When the effects are imposed on “the group” of events, this transition bug does not occur.

I thought that I would pass this finding along, as it is easily missed (almost subliminal). Has anyone else experienced this?

I am working with Vegas 8.

PS: I have encountered a similar problem when transitioning in a PIP (from a seperate track). The incoming transition of the PIP will briefly appear white (1 frame, I think). If I move the effects from the track level to the event level, it transitions in just fine.
