    Hi Group

I really wanna drop Premiere and go over to Vegas Pro 8 but I have a few questions before I do

Can Vegas Pro 8 send over its timeline with its effects etc to DVD Architect 4.5 so that you only need to render once?

Here’s what I’m after. I want to cut my project and render it out for DVD only once. None of this render to avi first then to mpeg2 business. I do, however, want to build my own custom DVD menu.

If Vegas pro 8 cant send over its timeline to Architect , will it let me render to a mpeg2, give me control over the bit rate settings? and/or tell me if the final size will fit into single layer DVD?

I’ve used Vegas 6 and I remember you could render your timeline as an mpeg2 but there was no control over that mpeg bit rate settings. It just used its default template but sometimes, I anyway, would want to reduce the quality a little to get as much as possible on a DVD.

    Thanks in advance you guys
    Vic

The timeline, no. But you only have to render ONCE. In Vegas, you render to MPEG2 (using the appropriate bitrate for the length of the video) and to AC3 for the audio. Now you give DVD Architect those two files. DVD Architect will use them WITHOUT rendering. I have a couple of newsletters that cover this procedure.

Thanks very much for replying. I’ll def. check out your newsletter. One question I forgot to ask was, does Vegas 8 have a Shadow/Highlight filter like that of Premiere & Photoshop or an equivalent?
