    Hello,

When shooting weddings, I usually have my shotgun mic on my right channel and a direct feed from the audio board (music, speeches, etc.) on the left channel of my camera. When I edit this onto DVD, should I combine these tracks or leave them as is (seperate right and left)? My only concern if I leave them is that they won’t play properly on an older (mono) TV and only one audio track would be heard. Any advice regarding proper audio settings would be greatly appreciated.

Duplicate the audio onto a second track. Set one of the tracks to “Left Only” and the other to “Right Only”. This will cause that one side to go out BOTH channels but will also let you control the volume of each individually.

To make things really easy, download a “Stereo Split” script which can do all of the above for you at the touch of a button.

You should as Edward suggested mix the two sources to mono.
An easy way to split your stereo track to two seperate
mono tracks for mixing is to use a script.

Here is the link to a free one.

[jeditdv] “This will cause that one side to go out BOTH”
Can you clarify that, how that way one side go out on both tracks ?

When you choose “Channels – Left Only” – that will take the LEFT channel and output it out BOTH stereo outputs.
