I’m trying to get a useable still image from a project video clip in Vegas Movie Studio 6. I’ve done the two options above the preview window: saving to clipboard and saving as file. I’ve opened them in my photo program and have created the still photo. However, when I put that still back into the project and create a DVD, the still image is of such poor quality that it cannot be used. It’s so pixilated and blurry….just terrible. There must be a way to do this. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Before you save, set your preview resolution to Best>Full. Also temprarily set your project properties to non-interlaced (progressive).

Thank you. I went to File–> Properties–> Project Properties. I have a box labeled “Deinterlace Method”. It’s drop down options are “Blend Fields” or “Interpolate Fields”. It’s set on “Blend Fields”. I don’t see anything about non-interlaced of progressive. You thoughts?

Look under File>Properties>video tab>Field order There should be 3 choices – you want none(progressive scan)

Got it. Thanks!! The only time I use this setting is just to capture the image, correct? At all other times, use the default setting which is “lower field first”?
