    so i made a 6 minute video in final cut pro. exported it as dvntsc, copied it onto a portable hard drive.
    now i want to make some changes but i dont have a mac and i have sony vegas, whenever i try to import it into sony vegas i get an error that an exception has occured and the program crashes. anyone know any solutions or work arounds?

    Sounds like it doesn’t like the FCP export. What if you just print to tape from FCP and then recapture the tape in Vegas?

    Hi,
    don’t know if any of this will help but…
    I have a file from FCP which did not have the .mov extention on it so Vegas would not recognize it. I can add either .mov or .avi and either way it works in Vegas. So maybe you can try a different extention and see if that works.
    Or,if the file will play in Quicktime player. If you have/get Quicktime pro($29USD), you could export from there as .avi trying various settings/compression to see if that works.

    well i found a work around… i opened the file with quicktime pro, and converted it to .avi and then imported the avi into vegas and it works
