Can a 2 to 3 minute video be mastered to a CD instead of a DVD, and will it play on a t.v. set-top DVD player?

i’ve tried a few times, with no success. hell, dvd’s are so cheap nowadays anyway.

i tries as a sort of backward compatibility for older pc’s with no dvd drive. now i simply use wmv on a cd…

If you burn it to a video-CD (mpeg1) yes, many set-top players can handle those. But the quality isn’t all that much better than VHS.

Burn a high quality MPEG-1 to the CD. Should be better than VHS but just lower than MPEG-2.
