  • Easy way to split 1 movie to small clips?

    Hi There,

I have just got footage from a client (around 2hrs) and is in a single movie file. I normally like to scan the footage and trim the timeline down to small “chunks” that I want to use in the final edit (only 4mins long)

Before I simply keep all on the timeline and just drag into place, but this can be quite time consuming. Is there an easy way I can store these ‘clips’ I have made, which are essentailly crops off 1 file and save them in the project media library? Im not sure if the trimmer does something along these lines,

Thanks for any help in advance!

When you go to save your project, there is a checkbox option under the “Save as type” — it is “Copy and trim media with project”

NOTE: it stores the video and audio as separate streams

    Regards,
    George
