Hello – another question for you

I have some footage on VHS which I want to transfer to edit. I tried going through my cameras DVC 30 / DVX 100AP as they are supposed to have an A to D converter built in. But on the capture menu for Vegas it wants to capture the tape.

Do I need to transfer the vhs footage to a mini dv tape and then run it through the capture or is there some way to bypass the capture tape feature and just hit “record” some how to save the file?

    Thanks!

if you can see the image in the Vegas capture utility then you can capture it .. you would use CAPTURE Video but 1st make sure in preference you uncheck “enable dv device control” ..remember to go back and check it when you do need Vegas to control the camera/deck when you transfer from tape.
