  • Parts of audio is distorted on DVD and AC3 problem

In my Vegas project, the audio never surpasses 0 db. I rendered it as a WAV for PCM audio. Depending on what program I use to view the DVD, I get different distortions of the audio, such as the volume being reduced during a loud part of music. What could be the problem?

Also, when I render the audio (some parts are 48 khz and others are 44.1 khz) as stereo AC3, I get crackles and pops in the audio.

    Thanks a lot.

    Try this:

In the AC3 Custom settings, set the Preprocessing>Line mode profile to: NONE

I’m unable to make that setting change. It gives me a “the custom template you selected is not valid with the current project settings” error.

I’m able to change that setting now–but it didn’t help the audio. The crackling and popping are being experienced when I preview through DVD Architect. Do you think it’ll disappear if I burn it on DVD?

If you can hear the noises while previewing, chances are they will be reproduced in the final product. Does the noises appear when you play the project from the timeline in Vegas or just after you have rendered to AC3?

The noises appear after I’ve rendered the sound to AC3.
