  • Authoring a DVD to replace a powerpoint presentation

I use DVD to give lectures, with videos of a subjects followed by some text slides…I have used Vegas to construct an MPG 2 file, & I use the pause button to give the illusion of a static slide…of such things such as
graphs or tables ….as I find powerpoint unstable when it come to showing videos …using a DVD bypasses the problem of windows crashing during a presentation ….

I some times use photo shop to construct the text for the slides, but I find this awkward..
can any one advise me how to do ths more efficiently..

    also..

    1. What is a good & simple way to construct graphs & put them into a DVD presentation?

    thanks for your help

What if you use Excel to create the graph and then save it as an image to be imported into Vegas?

I will try, is it better than the graphing in WORD ?
    After this post
I did a test with creating a graph in Word & sent it to Photoshop… then into Vegas as a JPEG… It worked ….

When Architect makes a slide show, isnt it really turning jpegs into MPG2 Video??

Word should be sufficient. When creating Graphs, I just think of “numbers” which makes me lean toward Excel. Either should work fine.

Powerpoint is usually very stable with video. It likes WMV and MPEG-1. Perhaps there is some other issue with your PC.

The quickest way to create slides is in… Powerpoint! You could then “save as” png for use in Vegas or DVDA.

ok thanks, I will try the PNG idea, I never knew that, thanks,

lastly, is it possible to create a ‘ a true slide show using DVDArhcitect….? it seems to me that ‘ the slide show which has up to 100 ‘slides’, is actually a movie
