“the Photoshop Library operation failed because Quicktime is not installed on this computer”
I’ve recently discovered hand animating in photoshop (brilliant) and then importing the animated layers in After Effects.
Everything has been working fine until a couple of days before my deadline (obviously) when some rather complicated animation refuses to import and comes up with the error message…

This happens with all three types of import… as:-
Footage
Composition – cropped layers
CompositionIt’s strange as I had this message once when I first started importing animated photoshop files but it went away after I deleted some of the layers however I can’t delete any more of the layers in this .psd file as they are all essential and besides which I’d love to find out what it’s about.
I have:-
re-installed Quicktime (it wasn’t a Quicktime update issue thankfully)
checked the versions of After Effects and Photoshop (both CS3 (one pro, one extended))I can:-
simply export the animation seperately as .png sequences however as I say I’d like to find out why this is suddenly happening especially for other people having the same problem.Thanks in advance for your help and thanks and good luck to Aharon Rabinowitz for the future.

Um…
O.k.
…so having banged my head against a brick wall for a day and then posted, I think I’ve found the reason….
The .psd file I was trying to import was ‘WINDOW_03.psd’
It was in a folder with ‘WINDOW_01.psd’ and ‘WINDOW_02.psd’.
When I was importing it I didn’t realise that I had the ‘Photoshop sequence’ button checked.
Which would explain why it couldn’t import all the animated layers as crud-knows how it would have done it (some dimensional break I suppose)!

Hmmm…. this is happening again but without Photoshop sequence checked (in fact without any other files that could be construed as a sequence within it…)
grrrr….
