  burn in

  I’m sure this has been spoken about before but I couldn’t find any specifics on what I need to do. I have a shot of a door (a still) and I need to burn in some text as if it’s being scratched in but kind of like a blow torch. I know the description is a bit sketchy but that’s how it was when it was described to me. The client also wants flames etc to show the intensity of the heat. I am considering buying particle illusion anyway which would take care of the flames but still need the burn effect. Any ideas guys? I’m thinking maybe animate a mask over a photoshop layer but I need the burn to look convincing.

  Forgot to mention that I have after effects and don’t think I can pull the illusion off with that alone hence the possible move for PI. Anyone got an example maybe.
