  • Render output has more polygons than viewport render

    Hello,
I’m pretty new to Cinema 4D. I made a few low poly clouds for work and need to render them out as PNGs (for now, but I will need to be able to render as a 3D object later for use in AE). Everything looks right in the viewport, but when I render out as PNG, the polygon count increases. This also happens if I make the objects editable.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

    Mac OS 10.13.6
    Cinema 4D R17

thanks for providing the file it would have been just a bunch of guesses without it. You are using Metaballs to create the clouds, each metaball has an Editor Subdivision and Render Subdivision setting. You want the Render setting to be the same as your Editor setting (44.264).
Usually the metaball is used for smooth blobs and the editor setting is a lot bigger for viewport speed with the render setting smaller for smoothness of surface.
