  • Cloner within cloner, randomize all – how?

Hey guys, if you have a different way to do this, please let me know…

I have a cloner cloning a line of spheres on an object (think of a curvey line with spheres attached to it. I then need to clone that curvy line of spheres downward so it becomes a curtain of spheres from the curved line.

NOW, I need to randomize each and every sphere, offset them just a bit. If I do it to the first cloner, each sphere gets randomized…good, but then that whole thing gets cloned from there.

If I put the random effector in the second cloner (the one within the first cloner), it clones the random offset of each sphere from the first cloner and I get straight lines of spheres all the way down.

Keep in mind that I need that first line of spheres to attach to the line as that line will change in shape and I need the cloners to follow it as it animates.

Again, I need to randomize all spheres…any ideas?

    Thank you!

You could try to clone the spline like this example.

    I hope it helps.

    Good Luck

or clone onto an invisible polygon sheet with a single cloner then random those clones

    Thank you, both!

    I’ll experiment with both methods.
