Joining two caps to form a 3d printable body
Hi there,
I’m trying to give thickness to a surface so that I can get it 3d printed.
The surface mesh is generated with a displacer and has a high poly count cause I want something really detailed.
I’ve tried to create thickness with xsThickness but the result is super glitchy cause it follows the normals of the polygons I guess.
Because my surface is quite planar, I just want to give it thickness in 1 direction.
That’s where I thought of creating two identical surfaces that would be the “caps” of my solid, and try to bridge the gap between them, but I have no clue how to do that.
It would be great if this can be done with a parent or child function rather than by hand cause I have quite a few (100s) of these leaves to give thickness to.
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone!
Pierre
