Problem with v13 C4D studio – selection tool stuck & idle
Hey there – I’ve been having this bizarre problem where I seem to be stuck on the select tool however it doesn’t even select things as it should – please watch the movie it will make more sense! As you will see at the end of the clip I try to use the render region selector & it turns into a cross hair but does nothing other than move the camera.
Thanks to all suggestions, I have no idea what has gone wrong here.
Please help a newbie!

In R17 there is an Align Workplane command which will result in the behavior you see with the move tool, but it wouldn’t cause your other issues. Since that command is not available in R13, I don’t know what the culprit is. I assume you have tried quitting and restarting C4D? If not, that and restarting your computer would be a place to start.

even with the X, Y and Z locks on (which it is at first) you should be able to override by directly grabbing the axis handle – which you do – …..
The behaviour you are getting looks most like having the ‘1’ key pressed all the time (the Move Camera Hotkey by default).
