I’m getting extremely frustrated. I don’t get my profiles to sweep the right axis along a sweep path. I’m changing the angles of the profile but nothing changes. Is there a way to post screen shots to explain visually?

Please help. This is for a big project for which I modelled a new Jag Pace car, and now this stupid little issue keeps me from completing it!

you can use a Rail Spline in most cases to control which way the swept shape orients on the main spline

This is a tough case because the spline turns in every direction. The rail spline works by giving the sweep a hint, but here, no matter how you offset it, it’s giving part of the sweep the wrong hint. I think the only solution is to use multiple sweeps.

Hi and thanks for your response. This was a simple profile that was supposed to sweep along a 90 degree arc – very simple stuff! After messing around, I figured out that one has to actually rotate the profile’s axis – not the profile itself! Don’t know why it’s being made so complicated

    best regards

the Z-axis of the swept spline is used for orientation

Sorry, Cobus, I was thinking about a file someone else posted recently.
