    Hello Everybody,
a bit complicated question. Im making an animated Video in C4D. It has a lot of area shadows and reflections, which means much longer rendering time. The Scene is 2 characters in a living room. As I am Rendering it to PNG sequence in order to open it later in after effects, I wanted to ask if I can render only one Frame of the room (cause it never moves or changes), and later to render the characters seperately. And bring them together in after effects. And if its possible, how would I make the room and the furniture react to the shaddows and light reflections of the charecters?

    Thanks a lot!

The best you could do, in order to have the shadows and GI from the characters effect the room, would be to strip the room down to a bear minimum to receive the desired effects. So, you could possibly remove the textures, substitute lower-resolution geometry, etc.
