    Hi

I’m trying to create an effect where a fluid simulation of gasses created in TurbulenceFD drives the particles in the X-particles plugin. Once I’ve done this, I plan to use X-particles’ skinning feature to texture the gasses with translucent materials to look like underwater bubbles.

I’ve seen this technique used on these following links:

    https://lesterbanks.com/2014/09/creating-particle-advection-turbulencefd-x-particles/

    https://lesterbanks.com/2014/01/driving-x-particles-turbulence-fd-fluids-2/

Strangely I follow each of the steps in these two videos exactly and I just don’t get the same result. In one of the videos, the tutor says that X-particles knows that it has been placed inside a TurbulenceFD container and he goes on to demonstrate it. In my case, the XP just sits, static, not following the fluid motion of TFD…

Am I missing something? If somebody has a project file of this working it would be of great use to me to just have a look through any settings I’ve somehow left unchecked!

    Really baffled!

    Thanks for your time

    Same issue here

You have to activate in the TFD container>simulation tab>velocity tab> particles velocity scale to 100%

You need to check `cache velocity` on the tfd container before simulating.
