    hey everybody,

i was just thinking, i have a plane, and i want to use the poly fx to sort of control each polygon
of the plane. wich works great if i use like a random effoktor to turn them.
now i was thinking to also use a shader effector to have different colored polygons. like a gradient, but not smooth gradient, like the next clone has 10 % more yellow then the one before und so on. just steps.

i think i saw it somewhere but google didnt bring much joy this time

    thanks,
    Ronny

Unfortunately you can’t control color with Polyfx, but you could use a Fracture Object instead.

Okay i understand, but i am also interested to create the color transition, do you have a hint for that too? Thanks very much, ronny

    Ronny,

I put together a scene file using the formula effector on color mode .. It works as it is supposed to on a cloner but not on a fracture object .. The object index seem to be messed up after disconnecting the plane in the fracture object and i can’t figure out why ..

Changing the polygon index in structure manager doesn’t seem to work either ..

If you break up planes in separate objects(polygon groups to objects) and then change the position of first plane in the hierarchy to the last then it works ..

    Here’s the scene file :
