July 23, 2013 at 3:31 pmthat sort of thing would usually be done by using a SweepNurb to sweep a profile spline along another spline

July 24, 2013 at 12:59 amThank you for your response!
I’m not sure o how to do that, but you mean like this?
https://i43.tinypic.com/2cg0pdy.jpg
by creating a sphere and dragging it under spline?
I’m a bot confused. I have to create another spline? or can I just used the spline available?
Your response is appreciated.

July 24, 2013 at 1:39 amyou want the sphere to move inside the sweep? If so, take the sphere out of the sweep and add an Align To Spline tag to the sphere, then you drag the spline in the sweep (Spline.1) into the Align To Spline tag’s “Spline Path” spot

July 25, 2013 at 1:10 amYes, that’s what I intended. so that it looks like the sphere is moving with the nurbs.
I already added an align To Spline tag to the sphere.
but I am confused with the next step you mentioned.
Please take a look:

am I doing it right? if yes, it isn’t working.
may I know what went wrong?

July 25, 2013 at 2:57 amHere is an example with simple parts but it would work just as well with a more interesting spline etc.- just a circle spline and the flower spline to make the Sweep tube, and a sphere to follow the same circle spline used in the Sweep.

July 26, 2013 at 3:15 amI saw the file you uploaded. I tried to apply the similar technique, but it isn’t working.
I have attached the file for your reference.
Inside the sphere’s align to spline tab, I have set the spline path to “spline.1”.
but then, the sphere isn’t following the spline as expected. am I missing something here?

July 26, 2013 at 1:29 pmyou have to keyframe the Position parameter in the Align to Spline tag or it won’t move along the spline (like the camera’s Align to Spline tag following the same spline)

July 28, 2013 at 12:50 amMay I ask where I can find the the Position parameter in the Align to Spline tag?
I’m kinda new to cinema 4d. 🙁

July 28, 2013 at 8:00 pmwhen you click on the Align to Spline tag all it’s attributes show up in the Attribute Manager (that’s the stuff in the lower right corner of the interface) – that’s true for all things you click on
