  Drape “cloth” over a cube

  I remember seeing a tutorial somewhere, and for the life of me I can’t remember where, on how to drape an object as if it were cloth over another object.

  For example, if I have a plane object, and wanted to drape it over a cube and have it stop where it touches the cube, but drape over the edges like a table cloth.

  Can someone please explain how to do this?

  The best way to do it is to use the cloth simulation system, if you have it in your C4D package. It’s pretty simple. Position a subdivided plane over your cube, convert it to polygons, give it a Simulation>Cloth tag. Add a cloth collider tag to the cube. Press play. Adjust the cloth tag settings to taste.

  If you don’t have cloth you can get a so-so result using a soft body simulation tag.
