    hey!

    two questions:

    first:

was thinking about creating a scissor joint situation, but in the end it hurts my brain a bit to much 🙂

    something like that:

maybe a couple of 2 piece joints along a ik spline could do the job,
but thats to messi and unattractive to build.

did anyone knows a good way, espiacially something that is able to bend maybe …

    second:

when i scale an ik-spline, it seems that it is not scaling the tangents i think, so the rig starts to fold itself and make strange stuff.

did anyone had the same problem before?

    thanks,
    Ronny!

Regarding the scissor joint, there’s probably a really clever way to do it using constraints and some math, but that’s not how my brain works. But I was able to put something together using MoGraph and a little Xpresso. The spline wrap can be applied to provide a bend.

As for the second question, I don’t think you should be scaling the IK spline; rather, move the handles to change the length.

thanks for your file, seems that pretty much people using r12 here, i am on 11.5 🙁 (there should be a way export to older versions !?)

the thing with the scaling is just occuring when i import charakter
into a scene where it needs to be scaled to fit in the scene. thats nothing i can abandon, i cant scale the scene to fit to the rig. but i just relized that problem after building that complex rig. noooooo!

    🙂

    thanks,
    Ronny!
