    Hey guys-
I have been handed a job where I have to model a fair amount of interior home furniture. These need to be as close to photo-realistic as possible. I am having some issues making the bed (i.e. comforter and pillows) and couch (i.e. cushions and throw pillows) “fluffy”. I have essentially made a cube at the appropriate size then added 1 segment for every 10 ft, made it editable and randomly adjusted some of the surface polygons. Then added HyperNurbs to it. It still just doesn’t look right.

I have added a couple of images as references as to what I’m talking about. Please excuse the lighting and render settings, as these are temporary for the sake of modeling and will copy and pasted into the appropriate scene. Also, some of the modeling is a bit rough and will be refined. We’re in a bit of an exploratory stage right now.

    Thanks!
    -BS

If you have the cloth module it’s great for making cushions — or at least creating the starting shape. I put up a short video tutorial here: https://www.3danvil.com/tutorials/pillow/pillow.html

Change .html to .swf if you want to download the file.
