I have a camera following a spline path which starts straight and curves downward. Ive smooth all the points but still get jumps. Also the camera seems to speed up and slow down while approaching some points, specifically the first point of the curve downward. Any tips on getting a perfectly smooth traveling camera along a spline path with even speed? is there a way to make the spline in to direct path and none editable with no pionts??

    thanks in advance

You can achieve uniform speed by setting your path spline’s intermediate points to … uniform. If it’s still a bumpy ride you might want to use a b-spline instead of a bezier. The shape will change, though, so you’ll have to do some adjusting.

You can convert the spline to a motion path with the timeline command (spline to position path), but the camera rotation will be lost so that’s probably not an option. You can also bake the animation but it will be very hard to edit after that.

You can also give my free cam system a try. Here’s the set, it’s the one called CS_Easycam:

Sorry, yeah our web guy cleared out all the files by accident . Try it again in a day or two when I put the files back.

    Hi,
I’d really love these presets – can anyone else post them for download?
I reckon Chris is a very busy man and I don’t wish to hassle him.
    cheers
