what are the best memory cache settings for CS3 on intel imac 2.16 with 3GB ram?

stock 120 max memory and 60 max ram cache takes 13 seconds to render 30 sec comp.
120 max memory and 80 max ram caceh takes 9 secs.

waht is the best to do? can i put the max memroy cache to 100?>

You can, but you shouldn’t. I wouldn’t recommend going above the 80% you already tried, if you go much higher you’ll significantly increase the chances of a render failing.

Also, are you sure that setting it at 80% actually made it go faster? Have you tried doing the same thing in the opposite order (render with 80% first then go down to 60% and try it again)? AE may have just been reusing things it already cached in the first render for the second render.
