January 19, 2011 at 5:11 pmAre you trying to export a quicktime movie without the top & bottom bar?
Or are you referring to the display with FCP?Todd at UCSB

January 20, 2011 at 2:58 pmFCP won’t do it. You added a filter that gives the illusion of a different aspect ratio – FCP is still moving the ‘black bars’ as if it was a graphic.
I’d do this in compressor (vs. QuickTime.) But here’s both.
When you export, you should be able to get to all of the QuickTime codecs along with a button that says size. You’ll have to play around and experiment with the right number for the custom dimensions you want along with the crop necessary.
In compressor, you can specific and adjust this on the Geometry tab.
