  Does anyone have any tips on how to animate turnstiles moving around?

  Hi there

  Basically I have drawn a picture of some turnstiles similar to those in this photo – https://www.kaba.co.uk/is/images/products/turnstiles.jpg

  I want it to look like they are moving around but I really dont know where to start, does anyone have any tips? Would I need to do each section as a separate drawing/layer and then animate separately in 3d mode?

  I’ll take a shot at this 🙂

  You can create one set of the turnstyle arms (say, North and South or along the x-axis). Duplicate it and in 3D mode make them perpediclular as they are in real-life.

  To animate them, parent one to the other and then parent the parent to a Null objet. You would then only have to rotate the Null along the Y-axis.

  Someone may have an easier or better explanation but If you’re not doing it in a 3D app, that’s the way I’d go.

  How about drawing them from the top view in Illustrator, then import into 3D Invigorator and extrude for a true 3d object that can be rotated.
