    I can’t seem to get audio to work in my composition on after effects. I’m tryin to match a heartbeat . mp3 file to text but for some reason i get no audio playback?

    What am i doing wrong can anyone help me please?

    First, use Quicktime to convert the file to AIFF or WAV. Then import that into AE. Otherwise, we won’t fix the problem.

    Try audio-only playback for the comp containing the audio layer using the . key on the Num keypad.
    Try playing a RAM preview for the comp containing the audio layer. This is how to preview in AE — not with the spacebar.
    Make sure the little audio button is on for RAM preview.
    Make sure the little speaker icon for the audio layer in the comp.

    If you still can’t get what you want, let us know the conditions (any) under which you can hear the audio.

    regardless of any other issue – MP3’s do not work with AE – no matter what.

    They seem to work, until you render.

    So as Steve said – always convert your MP3’s into WAV’s or AIFF’s.

    You guys are the coolest thanks for your help i figured it out. It was imported and converted to a Aiff, i just wasn’t choosing the right option for playback.

    As soon as i used the . on the num pad it worked perfectly! Thanks a million!
