May 16, 2009 at 1:25 pmYou can’t change the clip settings without converting the file with something like Compressor. You can change the sequence settings using the Audio/Video Settings function.
It would be much simpler if you just gave exact information about your media and what you’re trying to do rather than us trying to guess and extract the information from you one question at a time.
All the best,
Tom

May 16, 2009 at 3:09 pmI am using Final Cut Pro S 1.4. The camcorder I have is a Canon XH A1 high definition. I only have problems capturing with this camcorder. When I use my old one (Sony, analog) the capture is fine and I never have to render any files.

May 16, 2009 at 6:51 pmLook up sequence settings & clip settings in your FCP manual. It’s all explained there, so there’s no real need for someone to explain it here.

May 17, 2009 at 6:19 pmIf you upgrade to FCP6, it will set settings for you. After opening a project, when you drag your first clip to a sequence, if the seq settings are different from your clip, FCP will ask if you want it to change the seq settings to match your clip.
