  FCP 4.5 presets to FCP 5?

  Is it possible to transfer any of the following presets I’ve saved in FCP 4.5 when I upgrade to FCP 5?
  favorites (custom transitions & filters)
  window layouts (interface)
  bin layouts (column choices within bins)

  Any other tips about the main things to watch out for when going from 4.5 to 5 are appreciated. We’re upgrading via a fresh install of 5 on a new machine.

  The windows layouts and bin order can be opened from any version of the application.

  Favorites are more of a problem. You need to open an FCP4.5 project that accesses those favorites. Make a new project and drag the favorites bin into the project browser. Open that 4.5 project in 5 and then move the contents of the bin in the browser into the favorites bin the v5 project. They’re then be loaded into the FCP5 preferences file.
