    Hi,

Is anyone familiar with the best export procedures (compression, size, ect) when creating Quicktimes for use on the web in both the low bandwidth and high bandwidth playback modes? Is there a tutorial or other resource already posted on the calf or cow? Having difficulty finding a guide.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I’m also at a loss generally in this area. Is there a kenstone article about what exactly you do to prepare a sequence for export to Sorenson Squeeze or Cleaner or any other number of sequence re-purposers other than Compressor?
Is there a ‘Squeeze’ plug-in that allows direct export from FCP. I’m not clear about the workflow from FCP to Sorenson Squeeze specifically. I’ve looked on various forums and article databases, but haven’t found anything…thanks in advance for your help.

I just use Compressor and I only use the H.264 codec which requires that the viewer have the Quicktime 7 player, but the quality and file size are tremendous. There are several choices in Compressor for high / low bandwith as well as in Quicktime Pro.

You can visit my film’s website and see an example of H.264 at the second to highest bandwith setting on the Trailer. http://www.theroughcutmovie.com

It’s a lot of trial and error when it comes to this stuff and often times it’s dictated by a client. If you’re just working on this yourself, then consider what your viewers will be using to view the files. Also know that you need to turn the Gamma up for Windows viewers as Quicktimes appear darker on a Windows machine.
