  • FCP 7 and Maverick – which external hard drive to use?

Posted by Sylvie Bolioli on January 29, 2015 at 4:16 pm

Hello, I’m still using FCP7. When I upgraded to Lion and Maverick, a G-Raid drive containing my whole movie edit was corrupted. I have tried to install a Snow Leopard partition but I cannot use the drive any longer, not even on Snow Leopard. Hopefully I can still copy the files over to a new drive. Is there a different better brand of External Drives I should use?

    Thank you,

    Sylvie

Before you do anything else you should purchase Disk Warrior and run it on your drive. It will be the best $99 you ever spent, and if the drive is corrupted and your issue is not a hardware failure DW will most likely repair it.
