  Automating Slate Creation

  Hello Everyone,
  Long time reader, first time caller…

  I have to create approximately 300 slates of 10 seconds each. The slates are nothing fancy, white type on black background and the only thing unique is a ID number.
  This ID number will probably be from an excel spreadsheet.

  I’m just trying to figure out a way to automate this.

  If you manually create a timeline with 300 identical slates spaced out as you need you can export that as XML. Via some find and replace trickery you can modify each slates info in the XML and import that back into FCP.
