  • HDV timeline footage to HD monitor?

Posted by Phil Giriodi on October 9, 2011 at 4:13 am

    Mac Intel OS 10.6.8
    FCP 7.0.3

I am still unable to view HDV footage from my timeline on my HD monitor using a Blackmagic Intensity internal card as output.HDMI TO HDMI cable.

The 1440:1080 is grayed out. All captured footage is displayed as 1920:1080.

I was struggling with this problem a couple of weeks ago but had to go out of town before a solution. The two suggestions from forum members did not solve the problem.

Your help would be most appreciated.

    Thanks

Make sure you’re drivers for the card are the latest?

Thanks Jerry. You did it again! That is exactly what the problem was. I was under the impression that I had the latest drivers but I did not.

    Thanks again.

    All the best,

Hey, it’s a standard response to the problem… Glad it worked this time!

    Jerry,

A big problem: After turning the system off for the night FCP will no longer boot this morning. It goes through the motions, however, it gets to a certain point and then disappears.

Tried everything that I can think of.

    What do you suggest?

    Thanks.

Success! Reinstalled Blackmagic software from internet. Now working as expected. May have to reinstall each time system is booted which doesn’t seem right.

    Anyway, thanks again Jerry.
