subtitle text properties
Posted by Himanshu Bhatnagar on August 16, 2011 at 6:57 pmHello,
I’m currently editing a 1080p footage. Now, when I try to add some subtitles to the video and drag the text to the time line it asks me to render.
This is probably because the subtitles are in 720p or some settings other than my footage. How do I change the text settings so that I don’t have to render it again and again?
Thanks in advance.

August 16, 2011 at 7:18 pmThere are no format settings for the titles… they conform to whatever the sequence setting is the moment you place them there.
If you have material under them that needed rendering (filters, stills etc), you’ll need to re render. (normal)
If you have turned off “Unlimited playback” from the RT pop up menu in the Timeline Window, you’ll need to render too. Faster computers need to render less BTW.But from what you’ve posted, it’s hard to tell the exact reason why you’re having to render, but it’s not a setting to change there except for that RT menu item.

I checked at the RT pop up in time line. Its giving me two options
1. use play back setting (this one is checked)
2. Full quality.What should I do?

August 17, 2011 at 1:16 pmHimanshu it’s H.264 that’s causing trouble.
You never edit in H.264, Is your source footage shot on DSLR camera?
You will need to convert it to prores. This is a regular topic here. Please serach for it.Pradip Patil
